Jesus at Work

As I unlocked the gates this morning, a moment of praise overwhelmed my soul, “Lord, I thank you that all are welcomed here.”

I’m thankful every day that this is my community. This kind of radical hospitality isn’t just something we say or theory practice but is evidenced by the random things we find lying around as we gather for worship.

A broken cell phone and a pair of false eyelashes were left behind.

Once, we found a bow staff, and for a long time, an abandoned scooter found its home in our sanctuary.

The shower used on Mondays is transformed into a storage space for Sundays. As the Sunday chairs are stacked and put away, the Monday mats are brought out as we prepare to extend our practices of worship and hospitality into another Monday of watching the Gospel transform lives and make all things new.

Jesus is at work, and I’m grateful for a front-row seat.
